Green Ball follow Pink Ball
What gave me the idea of creating a storyboard/comic inspired piece?
I had to stay late in school for a talk one day and my sister told me "I am staying with you."
Initially she was going to head home so it took me off guard.
I asked her for the reason, and she said that "Women are going missing in BC (BC, Canada for context), I am staying with you." It infuriated me that this was still an issue.
Then, as if it was all planned, for a whole week friends on instagram would post about a girls in the neighbourhood going missing, or somebody they knew going missing. Yet, there was barely anything to find on the news, unless you really dig for
it.

It makes it look like this: one, that there is no problem; and two, that whatever the problem is, it's not a big deal.
This is an ongoing issue that is dangerously becoming the norm.
I want people to look at this short story of surveillance. Did you laugh? that's ok. Did you complain about the pink ball? That's ok. When you see it for the first time it will probably make you laugh or not take it seriously. This piece is a reflection on how we take these issues in modern society and how selective media can be. It can dangerously create a false reflection of reality. fact that we know how the story ends regardless on how short it is, speaks a lot about today.
